How can Europe build energy systems that remain secure and resilient in an era of AI, cyber threats and growing geopolitical uncertainty — and what can we learn from Ukraine?
During ONS week in Stavanger, Itera is bringing together energy, technology and cybersecurity leaders for the panel “AI, Energy Resilience and Lessons from Ukraine.”
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Ukraine has been forced to operate and continuously adapt its critical infrastructure under extraordinary conditions. Its experience with decentralisation, digitalisation, rapid innovation and cross-sector collaboration provides important lessons for Norway and the rest of Europe.
At the same time, the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud platforms and autonomous technologies is creating new dependencies across the energy value chain. The discussion will therefore address a fundamental question for energy leaders: Who controls your energy value chain — you or your suppliers?
The programme will explore how AI is changing energy systems and security, how data sharing and digital collaboration can strengthen resilience, and how Europe should prepare its critical infrastructure for emerging cyber and quantum-era threats.
