Norwegian-Ukrainian Business Forum Brings Together More Than 250 Participants in Lviv
The Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (NUCC), together with Innovation Norway, Lviv City Council, IRON Cluster, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, and the Embassy of Norway in Ukraine, successfully organized the Norwegian-Ukrainian Business Forum in Lviv on 17–18 June 2026.

As the largest Norwegian-Ukrainian business event held in recent years, the Forum brought together more than 250 participants, including representatives of government institutions, municipalities, businesses, investors, industry associations, and development organizations from both countries. The event served as an important platform for strengthening economic cooperation, fostering new partnerships, and identifying opportunities for investment and reconstruction in Ukraine.

Over two days, participants engaged in discussions on key sectors including energy, defence and security, healthcare, construction and infrastructure, agriculture, innovation, and industrial development. The programme featured high-level plenary sessions, sector-focused discussions, presentations, B2B meetings, and networking opportunities aimed at transforming dialogue into concrete business cooperation.
Strong Commitment to Long-Term Partnership
Opening the Forum, Yegor Perelygin, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, emphasized that Norway remains one of Ukraine’s most important strategic partners. He highlighted the importance of attracting international investment, expanding risk insurance mechanisms, and creating favourable conditions for businesses seeking to engage in Ukraine’s recovery.

Perelygin noted that despite the ongoing war, Ukraine continues to develop its economy, create new opportunities for investors, and build modern value chains together with international partners.
Vegard Grøslie Wennesland, State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, reaffirmed Norway’s long-term commitment to Ukraine and stressed that Ukraine’s security is inseparable from Europe’s security. He highlighted the growing interest of Norwegian businesses in Ukraine and underlined the essential role of the private sector in rebuilding the country.

Representing the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Kulepin, Deputy Head for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization (CDTO), expressed gratitude for Norway’s continued support and emphasized the region’s readiness to welcome new investments and international partnerships.
Norway Desk Launched in Lviv
One of the main highlights of the Forum was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding establishing Norway Desk, a dedicated service platform designed to support Norwegian companies interested in investing and operating in Ukraine.
The initiative will function as a one-stop-shop for Norwegian businesses, providing assistance in identifying local partners, navigating regulatory requirements, accessing legal and financial expertise, and exploring investment opportunities across the country.
Building Partnerships for Ukraine’s Recovery
The Forum demonstrated the increasing momentum of Norwegian-Ukrainian business cooperation and highlighted the important role that private sector engagement will play in Ukraine’s reconstruction and economic development.

While the plenary sessions focused on the broader strategic framework for cooperation, much of the Forum’s practical work took place during a series of parallel sector sessions dedicated to specific industries and investment opportunities.

The strong participation from both Norwegian and Ukrainian stakeholders confirmed a shared commitment to building lasting partnerships and creating tangible business opportunities that will contribute to Ukraine’s recovery and future growth.
In a separate article, we will take a closer look at these sector sessions and explore the key insights across the energy, defence, healthcare, construction, agriculture, and innovation sectors.
