Dinner in Honor of the Visit by Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska

Last week, Norway had the honor of welcoming Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska, who visited Oslo to unveil the new monument of Queen Ellisiv of Kyiv, symbolizing the strong historical and cultural ties between Norway and Ukraine.

Ellisiv was a princess of Kyiv, married to King Harald Hardråde nearly a thousand years ago, becoming Queen of Norway.
Oslo’s Mayor, Anne Lindboe, described the statue as a symbol of the close bond between Oslo and Kyiv:

“Many Ukrainians live in Oslo, and I believe they can be proud when they see Queen Ellisiv — and of the bond we share with Ukraine.”

The unveiling ceremony was conducted by Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess and Crown Prince of Norway together with First Lady Olena Zelenska, who continues to demonstrate her strong engagement in rebuilding Ukraine and ensuring that schools and kindergartens become safe places for children once again.

In connection with the visit by the First Lady and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, NUCC and the Embassy of Ukraine in Norway arranged a dinner graciously hosted by Wikborg Rein.

The dinner gathered high-level political representatives and major players from Norway’s industrial and innovation landscape to highlight the importance of the private sector’s role in rebuilding Ukraine and to strengthen bilateral cooperation between our two countries.

We would like to express our warm gratitude to Wikborg Rein for their valuable support in organizing this meaningful event and for their continued contribution to fostering Norwegian–Ukrainian collaboration.
