Framtidsfredag: Lessons from Ukraine on Resilience and Preparedness
How do you keep a society running when the power grid and other critical infrastructure are under attack?
At Framtidsfredag, NUCC took part in a powerful and rare session featuring Professor Maksym Karpash from King Danylo University. Drawing from firsthand experience in Ukraine’s energy battle, he shared how hospitals, schools, and utility companies operate under constant uncertainty – and how local resilience is being built, day by day.

The session was presented by RENERGY – Renewable Energy Cluster, with NUCC’s Sigbjørn Albertsen moderating the discussion. It brought together key actors from the energy sector, defense, and government – including Norway’s Minister of Digitalisation and Public Governance Karianne Tung, Tensio, NTE, FFI, and others.

“Ukraine is showing us how critical infrastructure becomes a frontline in modern warfare. We must learn from their experience to strengthen Norway’s own preparedness,” said Thomas Bjørdal of RENERGY.
A big thank you to Maksym Karpash, all contributors, and our partners for meaningful insights and continued dialogue. These lessons from Ukraine concern us all – now it's about turning them into action.
