Norwegian and Ukrainian technology companies meet in Trondheim to strengthen cooperation in defence and dual-use innovation
On 21 October 2025, we took part in the Norwegian–Ukrainian Defence and Dual-Use Meet-up in Trondheim, organised by NORDSEC – Nordic Defence and Security Cluster in partnership with Ocean Autonomy Cluster, RENERGY – Renewable Energy Cluster, Defence Innovation Highway (DIH), and us, NUCC.
The event gathered more than 70 participants from Norway and Ukraine — entrepreneurs, technology developers, and industry experts — to explore collaboration opportunities in defence, dual-use technology, and innovation that supports Ukraine’s resilience and Europe’s security.
Ukrainian companies including NEJET, AUDM – Association of Ukrainian Defense Manufacturers, Iron Cluster, and Semantykaya presented cutting-edge solutions ranging from FPV systems and robotics to electronic warfare and communications.

From Norway, representatives of Biodrone, SentiSystems, Blueye Robotics, Maritime Robotics, and Nordiq Products shared experiences from working with Ukrainian partners, showcasing practical examples of how Norwegian technology and know-how can strengthen Ukraine’s defence and reconstruction efforts.
“Ukrainian companies have demonstrated remarkable ability to innovate and scale under pressure. For Norwegian companies, collaboration with these actors offers real opportunities for innovation, export, and partnership,” said Tevje Ravn Eggan, Project Manager at NORDSEC.

NUCC’s Sigbjørn Albertsen contributed with insights on Norway’s support to Ukraine’s defence sector and opportunities for Norwegian businesses to engage in high-impact projects.
The energy cluster RENERGY also presented its SUNRISE project, which focuses on ensuring a stable energy supply in war-affected regions — positioning Trondheim as a key hub for Europe’s collective efforts to rebuild Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“This meeting place is not just about technology, but about building concrete partnerships that can strengthen both Ukraine’s and Europe’s security,” said Eggan.

The meet-up marked the first time this event was held in Trondheim, Norway’s technology capital, following earlier editions in Oslo.
